GI Specialists and one of the area’s largest internal medicine groups are among new acquired practices
Baptist Medical Group, Baptist Memorial Health Care’s multispecialty physician group, recently added four physician practices: The Medical Group, GI Specialists, Metro Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery and Collierville Family Medical Center.
“Adding such well-respected, experienced physicians to the BMG team will broaden and strengthen our medical group and the wide array of health care services we offer the community,” said Jim Boswell, Baptist Medical Group chief executive officer and vice president of physician services for Baptist Memorial Health Care. “These physician groups have a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care, and we are proud they have chosen to join Baptist Medical Group.”
The Medical Group, located at 8040 Wolf River Blvd., Suite 200 in Germantown, specializes in diagnostic and internal medicine, treating adult patients. One of the area’s largest internal medicine practices, the group has seven physicians: S. Todd Overby, MD; L. Alison Pomykala, MD; Richard J. Jordan, MD; Terinell Beaver, MD; Steven Wener, MD; Mark A. Castellaw, MD; and Dana J. Wright, MD; along with a family nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner/gerontological nurse practitioner.
GI Specialists, with locations in Memphis, Bartlett, Brighton, Covington, Millington and West Memphis, has five physicians: Paul S. Bierman, MD; Kenneth I. Fields, MD; Edward S. Friedman, MD; Gerald J. Lieberman, MD; and Randelon D. Smith, MD and treats patients with digestive symptoms and gastrointestinal disorders.
Metro Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, located at 6027 Walnut Grove, Suite 203 in Memphis, has one physician, Dr. E. Todd Robbins. He has 32 years of experience and practices thoracic surgery, cardiothoracic vascular surgery and general surgery.
Collierville Family Medical Center, located at 790 W. Poplar in Collierville, has one physician, Dr. John Crawford, and a nurse practitioner. He has been practicing family medicine for 32 years.
